The Gameshape Approach

Our mission is to provide the athlete with a multidimensional approach to training and injury prevention. While our training philosophy is centered on sport specific postural control and core stabilization, the integrated performance training approach is designed to address the needs of each athlete on a case by case basis.

With the integration of performance and preventative/corrective training with soft tissue and myofascial techniques and a full host of therapeutic modalities at our disposal, each athlete will receive the one-on-one attention and care they deserve. This is what it takes to perform at the highest level.

Performance Training

Our training programs are based on athletic movement patterns, specific to the athlete and sport. Postural control, core stabilization, sport specific training and soft tissue techniques are the foundation of our program.

Neuromuscular adaptation and functional strength are progressively introduced, and clients will see a decrease in body fat and increase in lean mass. Training will improve neuromuscular firing patterns, which increases explosiveness and makes more precise, coordinated movement automatic.

Proper training will prevent or decrease the likelihood of injury through proper timing, balance, agility, biomechanics, proprioceptive response, and motor control.

The fundamental principle is that the body adapts to what it is exposed to –- the SAID principle (Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demands).

Injury Prevention

We offer fully equipped recovery and rehabilitation services.

A certified athletic trainer, physical therapist and massage therapist insure the athletes’ body gets the attention it needs to succeed.

  1. Muscle testing creates a proper treatment protocol and corrective exercise program to fit the individual needs of the athlete.
  2. Muscle balancing based the needs of the athlete and sport will be achieved through advanced active release techniques and myofascial work incorporated with a sport specific corrective training program.
  3. Soft tissue and stretching treatments guarantee proper recovery, and ensure the best possible performance levels throughout the program.

Pre Draft

If you’re preparing to enter the NBA Draft, you should prepare with people who know what it takes to make sure you’re at your best.

At Gameshape, we know the draft because we’ve been conducting draft workouts and running draft drills for the past 15 years. Trainers Robbie Davis and Marko Yrjovuori have a combined 21 years of NBA experience, both as members of NBA staffs as well as leading the actual drills at the annual pre-draft camp itself.
